Can you imagine being taken out of your home country to another country as a captive? Well, that is where the story of Daniel begins. The land of Judah was subdued by Nebuchadnezzar, the King of Babylon, but he made a surprising request; he asked that some special children be selected from the land of Judah to stand in the king’s palace. Pretty cool, right? Some people were chosen including Daniel with his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah (commonly know as Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego). We have a lot to learn from the life of Daniel and his attitude even in captivity, far away from home.

This week, as we start our journey on the life of Daniel, we will understand why the land of Judah was attacked 2 Kings 20:16-18, how Daniel was chosen, and how he remained upright in the face of challenge to his faith.
