Over the past weeks, we have studied the life of Elisha and learnt all the great things God did through him. We have learnt the importance of obedience to God, the value of service, the dangers of greed, the disadvantages of doubt and many more wonderful lessons. I hope you can boldly talk to your friends about the life of Elisha. Here are the highlights of Elisha’s ministry:

  1. He was chosen by God to take over from Elijah – 1 Kings 19:16,19
  2. Elisha followed Elijah till he was taken up in the chariots of fire – 2 Kings 2:2
  3. Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah’s spirit – 2 Kings 2:9
  4. Elisha was used by God to heal the waters of the land – 2 Kings 2:19-22
  5. Elisha helped the kings to know if they would win the battle against the Moabites – 2 Kings 3
  6. Elisha helped the prophet’s widow to pay her debts – 2 Kings 4:1-7
  7. Elisha prayed for the Shunamite woman to have a son because she was so kind to him – 2 Kings 4:8-17
  8. Elisha brought the Shunamite woman’s son back to life – 2 Kings 4:18-37
  9. Elisha healed a pot of poisonous food – 2 Kings 4:38-41
  10. Elisha fed a hundred men with twenty loaves of barley and a full ear of corn – 2 Kings 4:42-44
  11. Elisha sent a messenger to Naaman for deliverance from leprosy – 2 Kings 5:1-19
  12. Elisha discovered Gehazi’s sin (lies and greed), pronounced judgement on him – 2 Kings 5:20-27
  13. Elisha recovered a lost axe head from the river– 2 Kings 6:1-7
  14. Elisha revealed the evil plans of the king of Syria – 2 Kings 6:8-12
  15. Elisha was surrounded by Syrian army, Gehazi sees the armies of God. – 2 Kings 6:13-17
  16. Elisha blinded the Syrian army – 2 Kings 6:18-23
  17. Elisha promised food in the time of famine (in Samaria) – 2 Kings 7
  18. Elisha predicted famine of seven years (in Shunam) – 2 Kings 8:1-2
  19. Elisha prophesies victory over Syrians to Joash – 2 Kings 13:14-19
  20. Elisha’s bones raised the dead – 2 Kings 13:20-21

Wow! What a life!! And remember, he did all this with the Power of God. Children, if you have God in your life, you can do great things as well, just trust and obey Him.
